Deleting Your Account

At CitSci – we respect your privacy. You may delete your CitSci account by asking us to remove your account and any personal information tied to you. When making this request, please be advised that our policy is to remove your personal account details. The scientific data you have contributed will be retained as is stated in our Data Use Policy and our Creative Commons License.

If you wish for scientific data you have submitted to be removed along with your account details when we delete your account, you may ask us to do so.

Instructions for Account Deletion

Navigate to your My Profile page
Press the ‘Request Delete’ button. This will take you to a form to submit a support request to delete the account.
Specify what you want deleted:
Option 1: Account only
Option 2: Account and scientific data (including observations and photos submitted for scientific research

The account deletion process is manual. One of our team members will email you to confirm your request to have your account deleted. The account deletion process can take two weeks or more.
